The Natural Order Of Things is a novel told through the diaries of two very different narrators as they each seek to find meaning in a world that has seen the total and entirely unexpected collapse of modern civilisation. They have very different views on why they find themselves in this situation, what needs to be done next and even whether society's collapse is a good thing or not.

I'm currently seeking an agent who is interested in developing my career in a number of different directions. My first novel was published for free online at www.mrniceguy-novel.com, and is currently being developed as a feature film. The Natural Order of Things is my second novel and is nearing completion of the first draft.

I thought this was a great idea. Since seeing this pitch last week I've found myself wondering about the possibilities the basic premise offers. I thought the pitch was a bit negative at first because it said what the story was not, instead of what it was, but I think this works when Thomas says everything just stopped. It wouldn't change it!

Looks like this is going to be another self-publishing sensation if no agent or publisher has the wit to pick up on it.

David

Thanks for the vote of confidence.

I'm actually deep in a rewrite at the moment, so not actively pursuing anything. If any agents are interested however, feel free to contact me.

Thanks
Tom

I am so surprised this book is still looking for a backer - it sounds so good.

Hi
I told my friend to take a look at this site and despite being a very busy person after watching your pitch he went to your website, downloaded your book and read the entire thing in three hours.

I thought this was a great pitch, and if the book's half as good I want to read it.

Great - sounds like a book that could shake up this generation and maybe give them a glimpse of where we're heading. Not that I want to be so pessimistic, mind...

Have only just caught up with this one. It sounds brilliant!!! Worrying that it's set only in 2010 - yilkes. But it could really catch the current zeitgeist. Just look at the way the media reports and creates hysteria. One badly handled story about another 'disaster' (weather cycles, farming/livestock, rioting monks) and we'll all be putting up our barricades and stock-piling food. Go for it!

In reply, to whatever review, you sent a reply to saying it 'must suck'! I actually thought it was quite good, and it definatly didn't sound like sci-fi! Isn't that something to do with space, aliens. or the like?
In fact it might even persuade one to read it, to find out what it was about, which I would presume, is probably what you intended.

I think that means the pitch sucks, because this book is absolutely anything but sci-fi!!
